This guide details the basic features of the InZOI Character Editor, including the process of creating looks, working with character traits, customizing clothing, and using the built-in studio to shoot photos and videos.

InZOI Character Editor: Detailed appearance customization

The character editor in InZOI is impressively flexible. Unlike most similar games, you can customize your appearance in any way you want, from eye shape to skin texture.

When creating a new character, there are several preset base models available to choose from as a starting point. You can even change the age of the character. It’s also easy to switch between male and female gender. At the same time, the basic facial features remain unchanged.

After selecting the base preset, the most exciting part begins – the detailed facial customization.

Basic face customization tools

The editor is divided into two modes:

• Basic mode – allows you to change general facial parameters – position of eyes, nose, lips, head and cheek shapes.
• Detailed mode – allows you to spot edit individual areas of the face – the bend of the eyebrows, the size of the pupils and the shape of the eyelashes, and so on.

Dozens of settings affecting facial proportions are available, as well as separate sliders to adjust the depth of wrinkles, folds and other anatomical features.

Eye color can be adjusted not only as a whole, but also by zones: you can change the iris shade, pupil size, create the effect of heterochromia (different eye color). There is also a tool for detailed work with eyebrows and eyelashes.

Hairstyle and hair

The editor offers a variety of hairstyles, including both fixed models and customizable variants. If the hairstyle supports customization, then you can change the length of the hair, add color gradients, and adjust the texture and softness of the cut edges.

Some characters from popular franchises, such as Karlach from Baldur’s Gate 3, are difficult to recreate due to the limited selection of hairstyles, but developers continue to add new models.

Skin color and facial features

In addition to the standard skin tones, InZOI has an expanded selection of fantasy shades. Therefore, the possibilities are very wide, up to the creation of unusual characters – orcs, elves, demons and others.

Additional customizations allow you to add:

• Various effects that mimic skin texture

Customizing clothes and accessories

One of the most interesting features of InZOI is the ability to create unique clothing. In addition to the standard closet items available in the game, players can upload their own textures and prints.

The following options are available for customization:

• Changing the color of the garment
• Applying custom images and patterns
• Customize collars, sleeves and length of pants or skirts

Character traits and lifestyle

The character editor in InZOI has an advanced system of character traits and they affect the behavior of characters in the game. For example, if you select “calm”, the character will lose energy faster but feel relaxed for longer.

Character traits affect the interactions available and determine how a character reacts to events in the world. For example, a social activist makes friends easily, while a cautious person stays in an anxious state longer.

In addition, one’s life path can be chosen, such as the pursuit of wealth, love, or adventure. This determines what events and challenges will be encountered in the game.

Photo Studio and Shooting

One of the main features of InZOI is the built-in studio where you can take photos and shoot scenes with the characters.

In the studio, you can customize:

How to take good pictures in InZOI

1. use FOV (field of view) – changing this setting allows you to get more artistic shots with interesting perspective.
2. Work with depth of field (DOF) – adjust the background blur to create a cinematic effect.
3. Customize lighting – add additional light sources to highlight a character and make the scene more expressive.
4. Use poses and emotions – experiment with different facial expressions and gestures to create unique shots.

InZOI has a built-in system for sharing characters and buildings. It’s extremely easy to upload your creations to the community, and other users can download them and use them in their worlds.
