Will InZOI support mods?
The life simulation genre has remained one of the most popular niches in the gaming industry for many years. Players all over the world love to create virtual families, build houses, develop characters’ careers and live through endless scenarios. However, despite the demand for the genre, The Sims has almost no real competitors. For years, the series has remained the only major representative of the genre, but that may change with the release of inZOI.
Developed by KRAFTON studio, this game may become the main alternative to The Sims, although it has many differences with the latter. Inzoi will feature life simulation, photorealistic graphics and many possibilities of flexible character customization and advanced mechanics of interaction with the environment. The developers will emphasize the possibilities of user creativity and will provide tools for full control over the gameplay, so that the player decides how his character and the surrounding world will look like.
Special attention should be paid to the karma system inZOI, which makes every action of the character significant and influencing his future. In addition, the game will have a city editor that allows you to change the weather conditions and the appearance of the streets. And if you are not satisfied with the way the city looks, or want to change the weather or remake a street, you can use the advanced city editor.
Despite the variety of content and a large number of mechanics, the question remains – will inZOI be able to offer something that has helped to keep interest in The Sims games for many years? It’s about mod support, of course.
Why do we need mods and how do they affect the games?
Mods have long been an integral part of gaming culture. They allow you to expand the functionality of the game, add new content, improve graphics and even radically change the gameplay. In The Sims 4, for example, modders create thousands of custom pieces of furniture, clothing and cosmetics, as well as add mechanics that are not in the official updates.
Supporting mods is an opportunity to extend the life of the game. Instead of releasing endless DLC, you can let the community itself create new content. This not only increases player interest, but also makes the game more flexible and diverse.
Many major projects such as Minecraft, Skyrim, Cities: Skylines have long used the user-generated content system, which has allowed them to remain popular over the years. Now inZOI may join that list as well.
Will InZOI have support for mods?
Yes, inZOI will support mods right after release. The developers from KRAFTON have already announced a partnership with Overwolf, the owner of the CurseForge platform.
Overwolf and KRAFTON started collaborating with modders even before the game’s release to prepare a starter set of mods. Hyunjoon Kim, director of inZOI, emphasized that the game is focused on creativity, and the partnership with CurseForge will make the process of creating and uploading mods convenient.
Overwolf head Uri Marchand also supported the decision, noting that user-generated content is the future of the game industry. He is confident that inZOI will become a great platform for players’ creativity.
